This slender volume is devised to entertain Sam J. Lundwall – the celebrated author, publisher, editor, singer and translator – on his birthday. It contains four stories, each of which reflects in various ways, the quest for amorous coupling by bimanus creatures, in Oxford and Papua New Guinea, in an alternative Moscow, in an anonymous continent, and in Kafka’s Prague.
Accompanying the stories are a Jugoslav letter and two poems dedicated to Sam.
