Barely the twinkling of an eye on planet Helliconia, planet Earth has enjoyed 30 years reading the trilogy of Helliconia’s, the Spring edition of which was now first published by New Wave grandmaster Brian Aldiss back in 1982.

To celebrate, the Aldiss estate in conjunction with literary agents Curtis Brown and publishers Gollancz will be giving away some signed copies of the latest publication of the trilogy.

We’ll let you know more about this soon but to whet your apetite the official Brian Aldiss blog has 2 exclusives for you. Firstly here is a photo of the original map of Helliconia as created by Brian himself during the creation of the solar system Helliconia. Maybe it’s even partly responsible for his latest foray into abstract art.

Our second treat is the creation of a new page on the site that serves to curate some of the great words, images and video from around the web in tribute to this epic production. It also features some new and old words from Brian himself as well as some exclusive write ups from limited editions.
